Katie & Andy ~ Virginia Wedding Photographer

I am so excited to be able to finally blog this wedding!!! When I first met with Katie & Andy I knew that this was a wedding I wanted to photograph. They were so full of ideas for their special day. The bride Katie is an interior designer (Olios design) and her now hubby is an engineer and can make just about anything! Katie would come up with a vision and then Andy would build it. He built so much for this wedding 🙂 They are both originally from Michigan, but moved to the DC Metro area after college. Their vintage/travel inspired wedding has been featured on Rustic Wedding Chic (part 1 & part 2) & Capitol Romance (part 1, 2, & 3).

Katie & Andy – you two have become the model client 🙂 Thank you for trusting me and allowing me into your world. Love you guys!

Love these save the dates she had made!

Katie even made vintage inspired bus tickets for the transportation the couple had arranged from the hotel to Woodlawn. Seriously, no detail was left undone!

Katie made all of her own invites using InDesign (Adobe) and enlisted the help of her then fiance to help assemble.

I love her hanger!

First Look time!

The bride & groom made the signs, the programs, and so much more!

You know it is a modern wedding by the fact that the pastor is using his iPad for his notes 🙂

I have seen the combining of sand at multiple weddings, but Katie’s attention to detail here made this even more special. She used sand from Lake Huron & Lake Michigan to represent where they both grew up. Now that is some attention to detail!

They wrote notes to each other and put them in a wine bottle for a future anniversary.

With or without the dog? I couldn’t decide so here are both 🙂

The bride’s grandmother painted the wedding venue on the canvas and then all the guest did their thumbprint in the sky. If I remember right it is supposed to represent balloons in the air.

The groom retrofitted the door for their seating cards and the bride handmade all the cards.

Star did a great job on the food! That steak was sooooo good!

Who doesn’t love a candy bar?

Didn’t Tiffany from Buzz do an amazing job with the cake?? Not only did it look good but it tasted good as well 🙂

Susan & Matt ~ Stafford, VA Wedding Photographer

Susan & Matt have to be one of the sweetest couples ever! They are so obviously in love and it is such a joy to watch both serve each other. Their wedding was held at Potomac Point Winery on a gorgeous fall day. After their engagement session I knew that the wedding was going to be awesome and it certainly did not disappoint. The team of vendors who collaborated on this day were amazing and day was seamless.

The “Grand Entrance”…

Potomac Point Winery has a cool tradition of grape stomping right after the ceremony! I’d say they enjoyed it 🙂

I don’t normally blog portraits but these tow little guys were just too adorable! We were just finishing up the grape stomping and the Maid of Honor asked one of the boys to hold her bouquet for a minute. Well I saw it and had to photograph it and then it became a little competition between them 🙂 So adorable!

The reception details on this wedding were amazing! Ryan & Linda did an amazing job!

Love the perspective my second photographer, Jessie, got on this one!

The groom is a chef and so Linda incorporated artichokes, sage, rosemary, and wheat grass into the arrangements. How cool!!!

There were some pretty crazy toasts 🙂

I was able to snag Susan & Matt for a few minutes right around sunset to get just a couple more images of them and they are by far my favorite 🙂

This should be a canvas…..in my humble opinion of course 🙂

Matt & Racheal ~ Cleveland, Ohio Wedding Photographer

It was almost exactly a year ago when my brother called me and told me that he was going to propose to his lovely girlfriend, Racheal. While chatting about all things weddings he asked if I would consider being their wedding photographer. I couldn’t imagine a better way to help them celebrate in their day!! They were married at a little jazz club, Nighttown, in Cleveland on October 1st. It was an intimate wedding of close friends and family and the venue could not have been more perfect for this couple.

I love when a bride uses something sentimental…

I think it is safe to say I loved her bouquet 🙂

The weather the day of the wedding was rain, rain, and more rain. We all had hopes that it would go away and for about 15 minutes it did! That 15 minutes allowed us to get some great bride & groom pictures. Yay!!

This is when I am a bow tie fan – I love the pattern!

Okay so I am not one to post processional images but I had to post this one because it is of my adorable nieces (duh!) and it so perfectly describes them. Cailin (blond) is all about the party and is loving the attention, while Abbie is making sure she meticulously lays the petals down and doesn’t always like to be in the center of it all.

I couldn’t decide between the next two so you get both 🙂

I like the jacket off, what about you?

Matt & Liz ~ Vienna, VA Wedding Photographer

Matt and Liz were married on what I believe was THE most popular wedding date of the year, 9.10.11. Pretty cool ehh? 🙂 They were married at Vienna Presbyterian Church and their reception was held at Ft. Meyer Officer’s Club. It was such a great September day! I know that they are anxiously awaiting their images so I am going to jump right in to their day.
