Just a quick post to let everyone know that I will be out of the office until October 10th.ย I am finally getting to take a little time away with my sweetie (yay!!!) ๐ย Before I left though I wanted to post a quick sneak peak for a very special couple, my brother and now sister-in-law ๐ย I had the privilege of photographing their wedding in Cleveland, Ohio this past Saturday. More to come later ๐

This session was so special to be a part of.ย The couple is my brother, Matt, and my future sister-in-law, Racheal.ย Over the July 4th weekend my hubby and I traveled back to Ohio for some time with family and friends.ย I am so thankful we were able to schedule this engagement session before their October wedding!ย I tell all my couples that an engagement session is so crucial to getting great wedding images and it is even more so when the photographer is your sister ๐ย An engagement session really allows you to get to know your photographer and their style and it allows the photographer to get to know you as a couple.ย They are meant to be casual and fun!
To start the session we actually brought the whole family to a local park and did a handful of family portraits before we headed out for just the engagement images.ย This was a great way to update their family images but to also get some great portraits of the couple!ย Grandmas are very helpful here ๐
Matt & Racheal โ Thank you for a great time!ย I canโt wait till your October wedding ๐
Warning there are a TON of pictures!ย I couldn’t decide so you get to see more ๐

This post is both a personal and a client post.ย When I was 1.5 years old I was adopted.ย I always knew I was adopted and knew that someday I might meet my birth mother and any other children she had.ย The summer before my Senior year of high school I was traveling back to Florida from Ohio (where we had just moved a year before) when my parents gave me permission to contact my birth mom.ย My birth mom is sisters with a really close family friend so contacting her was pretty easy (thanks for the address Aunt Barb ๐ ).ย So, that summer the puzzle of my life came together a little more.ย I was able to meet my birth mom and her two sons.ย Over the years we have seen each other a handful of times and have kept in touch via email and now Facebook.ย I am thankful to be able to say that it has been a positive experience meeting my birth family.ย So many others do not have that same experience.ย Every time I am headed to Florida I try to meet up with everyone for at least a few hours.ย This most recent trip I was able to do a mini-family session for one of my half- brothers.ย He lives in Georgia with his cute family and was down for some family time.ย It was so much fun to be able to photograph them ๐
JJ & Christinia – Thank you for a great morning of Florida sunshine & breakfast!ย ย Enjoy your images!

Hey all!ย Just a quick note to let you know that I will be out the office from 5/10 thru 5/18.ย I will be in Florida for work and getting some family time in (that is where I was raised ๐ ).ย I will have access to email sporadically and will try and return emails when I get a moment.ย Otherwise I will return the email when I get back.ย Thanks and have a great week!!
Oh, and because all posts are better with a picture (or three ๐ ) take a look at this adorable 3 week old Shiloh!ย Her birth story will be coming soon ๐
Wow, has it really been almost 3 weeks since I have blogged???ย Time is seriously flying this year!ย The past few weeks have been busy with networking events, head shots, and so much more.ย A couple weeks ago I was feeling pretty buried and had been staring at the computer screen for a verrrrry long time so I decided to take a break and go to the dog park with my puppy (they are always puppies to me ๐ ).ย It has been quite awhile since I took any pictures of her so I decided to take my “big” camera (instead of just the iPhone camera).ย It was really to see the faces ofย the other dog owners who did not realize that I am a photographer.ย They just kept saying, “wow that is a real camera!” ๐ The weather was gorgeous and Bella came home tired – a successful trip in my book!
