Caleb Patrick ~ Maryland Newborn Portraits

I have known this sweet family for some years.  They have moved (2x since I have known them!) with their jobs but now get the opportunity to be back in the DC area for a few years.  So excited to welcome them back 🙂  When they arrived “home” mom was 7 months (or so) pregnant with her second baby.  Kudos to her for doing a cross continent move and having to live in hotels and such pregnant and with a toddler – you really do deserve an award 🙂  On the day of Caleb’s birth I had the honor of being with the family and documenting Caleb’s arrival (not being published for privacy) and then on day 12 of life Caleb visited me for his newborn session.  Excited to share his session with you!  Be prepared – there are a lot of images 🙂  He is so handsome that I had a very hard time deciding on which ones to blog.

While we waited on Caleb to have a snack I was able to get a few images of his older sister Brooklyn – so beautiful?

The cutest “mooo” face ever 🙂 (and no I did not enhance her eyes – they are really that blue!)

A few with her baby brother…

Precious family of 4…

Both Caleb and Brooklyn stick their tongue out when they relax as a baby 🙂

One of my favorites…

Emilia Marie ~ Maryland Newborn Photographer

As a photographer when you are gifted the opportunity to photograph a couple’s journey it is an honor.  This particular couple I have been part of their engagement, wedding, and now baby girl.  When Susan emailed me to tell me she was pregnant and that she wanted me to do the newborn pictures, I think I literally squealed 🙂  A couple of weeks ago I was able to meet Emilia, or Emmy as they like to call her, and reconnect with Susan & Matt.   We had a great session and Emmy couldn’t have been more perfect.  I couldn’t decide on which images to blog so be prepared for a lot 🙂  First though, lets take a quick stroll down memory lane…

Susan & Matt’s engagement photos in Old Town Alexandria

Then their beautiful vineyard wedding at Potomac Point Winery…

and now introducing Emilia Marie!

Love her little smile here!

Both Susan and her mom, Sharon, fell in love with the next two outfits 🙂  In newborn photography the posing of the baby does not always differ greatly but the props and the backgrounds make each image different.  This little mermaid is certainly cute 🙂

Love 🙂

Doesn’t she look like a doll?

Matt’s mom made her the beautiful quilt in the image on the left.

Gorgeous Susan!

Happy Family 🙂

Grandma (Susan’s mom) was there to help during the session and I just had to get one with her in it as well.  Love the generations here….

Kendall Virelai ~ Maryland Newborn Photographer

Absolutely loving getting to snuggle with more newborns lately!  I recently converted a room in my home to a newborn studio.  This allows me to deliver the quality of images that I would like to and ensures that my clients get consistent images.  While it can be fun photographing in a client’s home it can also be very difficult if they do not have much natural light (some of those Capitol Hill homes are very dark, eek!).  The beauty of this space is that all of my props and blanket and so on are organized for the client to see and I have tons of natural light.  It has worked out amazing!  Maybe soon I will do a post with pictures 🙂

Kendall was the first newborn to use the space and I couldn’t have asked for a better subject.  She was only 6 lbs or so when I saw her and for the most part she slept through the whole session.  Nick & Lindsay (aka dad & mom) are such naturals with her and their love for her is so evident.  It was a joy to watch 🙂  I had such a hard time choosing images so be prepared for a lot 🙂

Miss Kendall wanted to show you her gorgeous fingers 🙂

Is she not the most precious baby you ever seen??  Love her red hair!

A crown for a princess…

Favorite of Kendall & Nick…

One proud papa!

Lindsay, you are gorgeous!

Baby Owen ~ Maryland Newborn Photographer

Jessie and I have been friends now for several years and when she called me to tell me she was pregnant I couldn’t have been happier for her.  Baby Owen was a whopping 9.6 lbs when he came into this world and hasn’t stopped growing fast 🙂  Last week they came up for a visit and I was able to snag a few pictures of him and his older sister Libbie.  Enjoy the cuteness!

Libbie helped me test lighting 🙂

Seriously I could hold him for hours (oh wait I have 🙂 )

Precious!

Look at those baby blues!
