Mini-sessions – Alexandria Family Photographer

Every fall I do a day of mini-sessions in the Old Town Alexandria area.  It is always such a great day!  I decided that I would love to blog a few of the images from each mini-session.  There are a lot of images so be prepared for lots of cute smiles from some kiddos 🙂  One of my favorite things about this day was that almost everyone have been previous clients of mine.  It is soooo much fun and rewarding to see them year after year!

The Brown’s – I have photographed their engagement, wedding, and now their family.  Love you guys 🙂

Isn’t their daughter the cutest??  She such a sweet baby 🙂

Has to be one of my favorite daddy/daughter images ever….

The top image is from their engagement session and the bottom is 2 years later…

Mary & Troy – Can you believe they been married 24 (I think I have that right 🙂 ) years?!?!  You two are so cute and I love watching how you care for each other 🙂

Have to admit that I am a little jealous of Mary’s round brush skills 🙂  You look amazing Mary!

A question I often ask couples is, “How does cuddling look to you?” – I love Mary’s answer 🙂

Simone – This little girl is special to me.  I have photographed her birth, newborn, 6 months, and now 12 months.  I thank her parents for sharing her with me 🙂

Ahhh that face!!!

Ebony – One of the most generous people I know and so full of personality!  Ebony did portraits with me 3 years ago just to have some good photos of herself for herself and family.  It was so much fun to have her back!

Isn’t she gorgeous?

This is such a classic Ebony smile!

The Mobley’s – Another long time Heather Bee family 🙂  I have photographed an anniversary session, maternity, birth, newborn, and now family photos for this family.  Random thought….One day it would be so cool to do an album of all the sessions that I have done for them, right?  At any rate this sweet family moved to Germany the day after these photos.  Will miss them over the next couple of years but excited for their new adventures!

Braelynn is one active little girl but we had fun! 🙂

Super Braelynn!

The Steit Family – aka the most stylish family ever 🙂  The Streit’s are friends and have trusted me in photographing their family as it has grown (Deacon’s newborn session, 6 months, family session last fall, hadley’s newborn session, and now!)

Sooo cute!

This is so Deacon and soooo fun!

beautiful people….

New favorite mommy/son image….

The Veatch Family – I have gotten to know this family through a mutual friend and was thrilled when they booked a mini-session.  Thanks guys!

Giving back…

I am a firm believer that we are all given gifts and that we should use those gifts to help give back to others.  In the photography industry there are many organizations that provide this type of opportunity.  I personally have chosen to partner with two who vision strikes a chord in my heart.  One of those organizations is called “Red Thread Sessions“.  What is a Red Thread Session?

Red Thread Sessions was started in 2011 by two custom photographers in Texas and Maryland, both whom added to their families through adoption. Feeling the need in their communities to celebrate the beauty of adoption through photography, Red Thread Sessions was born. Soon after, many other photographers throughout the U.S. felt moved to donate their time as well. Red Thread sessions not only captures family portraits of new families, it also capture the precious, happy, confusing, exciting, exhausting, traumatic, life-changing time that is so often brief and fleeting in the life of an adoptive family.

Being adopted myself, I was so excited when I came across the organization!  A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to do my first Red Thread Session for two very sweet families and one precious baby girl.  Go check out their blog post here on the Red Thread site.  Also, if you know of someone adopting around the country please spread the word about the organization 🙂

Isabel & her family :) ~ Maryland Newborn Photographer

Can I just say how much I love photographing squishy babies? )  They are just the sweetest!  Before I left for vacation I was able to photograph sweet Isabel and her family.  A few members of her extended family were in town visiting so we were able to get some great images with everyone.  Enjoy the baby cuteness 🙂

Proud Mom & Dad….

Love her tutu 🙂

Isn’t this the cutest strawberry you have ever seen??

The Crenshaw family ~ Maryland Family Photographer

Meet the Crenshaw family.  They are an adorable young family 🙂  I have loved getting to know them over the past few years and was thrilled to capture Miss Reagan for her 1st birthday.

Crenshaw family – Thanks for having me! I look forward to next time 🙂

We started off with a handful of family images in their living room….

Now for Miss Cutie 🙂

This trunk has been in their family for multiple generations.  Seemed only appropriate to use it, right?  I loved the burlap on the lid…

Seriously how cute???

We ventured outside for a few minutes to get a few images with brother…

Simone ~ Virginia Baby Photographer

One of the best things about doing portraits is that I get to see families grow.  I was honored to photograph the birth of baby Simone last November and then do her newborn portraits shortly before Christmas.  So, when I got an email from Simone’s mom that they wanted to do 6 month pictures I was thrilled!!!  She has gotten so big and is full of so much personality 🙂  Here are a few from our mini session (we did her 6 month pictures while doing an extended family session)…..

Isn’t she a doll?!?!

LOVE her!!

Hanging out with daddy!
