The Kiger Family ~ Northern Virginia Family Photographer

Excited to share a great session with you today!  For mom’s 70th birthday her children decided to gift her a family session.  Love it!  So often once the children are adults there do not seem to be many opportunities to take photos of the entire family (and with new family members!), so when I have the opportunity to help a family do this I am thrilled.  The family wanted a natural garden session so we ended up choosing Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna.  We did a mix of traditional photos and some photos of the family just hanging out.  It was such a fun morning!

The Ward & Wilson family ~ Virginia Family Photographer

I have known Katie & Zack for over 5 years now.  We all were part of the beginnings of our church, DC Metro.  Katie has an amazing talent for design & style and is such a genuinely caring person.  Zack is one of the sweetest guys I have met, so giving, and makes changing brakes look like nothing 🙂  So you can imagine when Katie asked me to do family pictures of her side of the family how thrilled I was!  Katie & Zack are moving to England (with a stop in the great state of Texas!) and they wanted to get a few images of the family before they moved.  We met up at their Del Ray home on a chilly morning a couple of weeks ago and then walked around the adorable Del Ray main street.

Katie & Zack – DC Metro is going to miss you!  I pray that TX is awesome and that everything goes smoothly with the move to England.  Love to you both!

Ward fam – Thank you for having me!! You are all so great and I am so honored to have done this for you.  Enjoy!

The Ulsh Family ~ DC Family Photography

Last weekend I met up with great friends of mine for a family session at the National Arboretum.  It was a blustery morning, but everyone was a good sport and we had a great time.  The session was special because in a month they will be moving from the area so it was one last opportunity to document their time here.  I have so many favorites from this session so be ready for a lot of images 🙂

Mama say What?!

The other night I was not feeling the greatest and had said I was going to bed, but instead I laid in bed and surfed Pinterest for way too long.  As I am surfing though I came across one of my own images (always humbling & exciting see someone pinned it btw).  So, as anyone would do I had to check it out.  It turns out that one of my former clients, Laura, is now contributing to a mommy blog.  She recently wrote a piece on how dad’s can help a new mom in the breastfeeding process (check it out here).   As I looked through the site I thought a lot of mom’s out there would really enjoy the blog!  It has real stories from real mom’s and you can submit your own.  Not to mention DIY stuff and giveaways!  Take minute to go check them out:)
