Kate & Jon ~ Alexandria Engagement Photographer

It is always so cool to see how people from two very different places are brought together and compliment each other so well. Kate was raised in the DC suburbs and Jon grew up in a small farming town in Canada. Their common thread was their desire to go into medicine and both choose MIT as their school. It was there on the ambulance that they met initially. Throughout the next few months a casual acquaintance relationship turned into something more. They are both in a gap year between undergrad and med school and will be married in December.

Tracey & Lem ~ Manassas Engagement Photographer

Tracey & Lem have to be some of the sweetest people I have met. The way Lem is so gentle and genuine with Tracey and how much Tracey adores him is just priceless. This sweet couple met while attending the University of Alabama and have recently relocated to the greater DC metro area.

Anne & Clay ~ Alexandria, Virginia Engagement Photographer

A few weeks ago Anne & Clay met up with me in Old Town Alexandria for part #2 of their engagement session. Part #1 was a few weeks before and ended in a downpour 🙁 Part #2 was amazing though! The weather was beautiful and all in all just a fun night!

Anne & Clay chose Old Town to have their session since a lot of their first dates took place there. I love to incorporate a sentimental location in a session! Here are a few images from part #1….

At this point we were all pretty wet and Anne turns to me and asks if she can do an image in the rain – ummm yes!!!! I love how these next few turned out!

and now part #2…..

So many thoughts and dreams were shared between the two of the them on this pier….

Both love the water so when we saw the opportunity to “borrow” the boat for a minute we jumped at it!

This one cracks me up! During one of their first dates they both discovered that they both do handstands – so we had to do them 🙂

Rachel & James ~ DC Engagement Photographer

This sweet couple and I met up at the Jefferson Memorial a few weeks ago for their engagement session. They both were here in the DC area for work and one night they met at a local Irish pub and now the rest is history! They will be married in Rachel’s home state of California next year, but they really wanted to document the place they met & fell in love.

Carolyn & Andre ~ DC Engagement Photographer

When Carolyn first requested Chinatown as a potential session location I was so excited!! So many say they want an urban session, but when you describe the different levels of urban most steer away from the really urban location. For this couple though Chinatown holds so many memories from the first stage of their dating relationship. It was such a fun night exploring Chinatown!
