Often I, along with other photographers, can get wrapped up in how technically strong an image is and pitch any image that doesn’t meet up to our standards. Back in April I photographed the wedding of Kenny & Genna Hamilton at the Westin Grand in Georgetown. The below image is one of those where the lighting conditions were not ideal and in taking this image I must have moved so the image is slightly out of focus. However when I was processing the image it captured me. Isn’t that what images are supposed to do? Thankfully I loved it so much I left it in the bride & groom’s final set of images. Last Tuesday, Genna’s father passed away. It was completely unexpected and sudden. This image now has even so much more meaning to this family, especially Genna. Having lost my father only 2.5 years ago myself, my heart is so heavy for Genna & her family. This situation is such a good reminder of why I do what I do. If you wouldn’t mind saying a prayer for this family during this season I know they would appreciate it.
Genna & Kenny – my heart goes out to you. Please let me know if I can do anything for you during this time.
