Danielle & Bart ~ Alexandria Portrait Photographer

It was a cold and very blustery day when I first met Danielle & Bart.  They had wanted to do a session for their Christmas card, but in December that was hard to come by (it was soooo cold!!!).  So we took a few images and then planned on meeting up in the Spring.  They were such good sports about it and this Spring/Summer session was so much fun!!!  When talking about where they would like the session they ultimately decided on their home.  It is the cutest little house!!!  It is always so much fun when you can incorporate something that is meaningful to the client.

Danielle & Bart – I had so much fun with you both!  Thanks for all the great laughs 🙂

I promise I did not position their dog – doesn’t it make for the cutest image though??? 🙂

I love a couple who laughs a lot!

They have an amazing little wooded park near their house!  I am told that it one of the best bird watching places in Northern Virginia.  Pretty cool, heh? 🙂

Remember the scene from Dirty Dancing???   I love my clients 🙂

Anyone who has been around the blog long knows that I can not resist taking a couple pictures of the child puppy 🙂

a Facebook message changed it all….

for Sarah & Christopher.  They had been friends for awhile through their church, Capitol Hill Baptist, but nothing more.   Sarah had left to do work in the Middle East, but Christopher just could not get her off his mind.  So after not seeing her for over a year he sent an “epic Facebook message” that expressed his desires to date Sarah.  As to be expected Sarah was a little blown away and kinda giddy 🙂 The majority of their relationship was long distance, but they made it work.  Shortly after Sarah was back in the DC area Christopher popped the question and the rest is history!

This wedding was so much fun to be a part of!  I clearly remember sitting in my favorite coffee shop one late August night as Christopher, Sarah, and I talked about their wedding.  Christopher kept rolling his eyes at Sarah and I as we discovered sooooo many similarities between us……throw in the cupcakes and that was one fun meeting 🙂 There are a TON of images in this post, so settle in 🙂

Christopher & Sarah – Thank you!!!!!!  You both were a dream to work with!  I can not wait to see what God has in store for you both as a couple.

Sarah’s laugh is so contagious!

love the images of others watching…

Such a special moment as all the ladies prayed over Sarah & Christopher’s marriage!

String instruments are so romantic 🙂

such a sweet moment with daddy….

this takes me back to my own wedding…

how adorable is this little guy????

LOVE this!

Due to the size of their wedding, they had two receptions.  There was an awesome slide show in the first one that kept everyone laughing!

great image from my second shooter, Lindsey!

a classic Heather Bee group image….

Christopher & Sarah’s first kiss was on their wedding day (yes, in front of 400+ people!), so we did a lot of kissing in their portrait time 😉

reception time #2 at The Mount Vernon Inn & Resturant

Okay, so a lot of wedding photographers talk about how they cry at every wedding they are at.  Yeah, that is not me.  I am in such a “work mode” that I want to make sure to capture your emotion and not miss it because of my own.  At this point tin the wedding though I couldn’t help it.  I don’t know if there was a dry eye in the house after the father daughter dance though 🙂  Then to top it off the speeches were some of the most moving I have yet to hear at a wedding!  My face was so tear stained by the end,but not to worry….I got the images 🙂

Shaun & Heather ~ Virginia Engagement Photographer

This was such a fun session!  Shaun is a Realtor and Heather is an amazing hair stylist here in the area.  When they contacted me about doing an engagement session I was so excited!  As you will see both Shaun & Heather are red heads.  That paired with the fall colors made me a little giddy 🙂  Since they spend a fair amount of time in Old Town Alexandria we decided that it would be the perfect place to hang out for the afternoon.

Shaun & Heather – you guys were great!  I had such a fun time and wish you the best with your Vegas destination wedding!

How could we resist playing in the leaves some? 🙂

Heather – you look so great rockin’ the dramatic look!

I am still laughing from this!!

OK, so at this point I really should have stopped shooting since it was practically dark, but they are HUGE Steelers fans.  We had to get some fun football images 🙂
