A true picture… ~ Palm Bay, Florida Newborn Photographer

This newborn session is so special.  Not only did a brand new miracle (yes, it really is a miracle) enter this world, but the reality of the kingdom of God is so tangible in this family.  Why you ask?  Well, let me give you the back story first.  Sarah & Lance were married for awhile when the reality of children biologically looked less likely.  They started their research and a short 9 months later they adopted an adorable Joshua from Kazakhstan.  They were finally parents!!  A couple of years passed and they knew that they would like more children.  Again, they looked at the biological and adoptive routes.  Several adoptions looked like they were a go and then at seemingly the last minute they fell through.  Then a domestic birth mom chosen them.  It is was going to be a girl…a dream of Sarah’s.   Scared but joyful they walked in faith that God was guiding them.  The birth mom made the adoptive choice pretty late in her pregnancy and she was having pre-term labor.   They prayed, waited and weeks after being chosen they became parents again.  Only the ultrasound tech had been wrong and it was a little boy!!  God knew what this little boy needed and He chose Sarah & Lance.  It was no accident.

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” Revelation 7:9a

From this verse I believe that one day in Heaven there will be no racial divides.  Sarah and Lance are not black and they are not Kazakh, but they did reach beyond themselves and have shown love & acceptance to two children.  They are a small picture of what heaven will look like.

Starr Family – Thank you for inspiring so many.  Loved getting to meet your newest little one.

Isn’t he gorgeous?

So kissable!!

Love this unplanned moment while I was switching blankets….

What is it about baby feet?  So adorable 🙂

Before we finished I had to get a couple of Marcus’s big brother, Joshua.

Welcome baby Shiloh ~ Virginia Birth Photographer

People always ask me what my favorite thing to photograph is and my response is always the same: births & weddings.  Being part of a life changing day is such an honor.  When I say births though I tend to get some pretty strange looks and comments like “You mean people actually WANT that photographed?”  LOL,yes people do and it is one of the most beautiful things I can do.  When I photograph a birth my goal is to tell the story and do so tastefully.  In my opinion it is clear what is happening and there is no need for the full on images (I recognize this is personal opinion though).  I want you to be comfortable sharing your images with whomever you choose so discretion is used when documenting.  If you are interested in having your child’s birth photographed please contact me at heather@heatherbeephoto.com for pricing.

A few weeks ago I had the honor of photographing the birth of Shiloh Renee.  Melissa (mom) had a C-section with her first daughter and was certain she did not want another C-section if she could avoid it.  Most doctors will insist on a C-section if you have already had one so Melissa started talking to midwifes.  She was encouraged by what she found and decided on  Birth by Design who supported Melissa in her decision to not do a C-section.  Birth by Design only does home births right now though, so Melissa & Andrew made the decision to give a home birth a try.  After 13hrs of labor, Shiloh Renee was born weighing 9 lbs & 22″ long!!!  Everyone is doing great!

Melissa & Andrew – thank you allowing me the honor of documenting your daughter’s entry into this world.  She is beautiful!

Check out their birth story and leave them congrats in the comments 🙂
