Francesca Herenui ~ Maryland Birth Photography

Welcome Francesca!!  On October 8th I was able to participate in a miracle – the miracle of a new baby.  This part of the job never gets old 🙂  Vania’s water broke around 3am and they made their way to Frederick Memorial Hospital.  Once she started progressing I headed up and waited with them as Vania progressed.  At 4 cm Vania was stalled and the doctor recommended doing a c-section.  Vania & Telmo waited an hour or so and then decided to proceed with the c-section.  All in all labor went nothing like they expected but in the end they had a beautiful, healthy baby girl and that was all that mattered.

Vania & Telmo – thank you for inviting me to participate in your miracle.  She is precious and I can’t wait for the next opportunity to see her 🙂

Calling the family in Portugal….

I love this one of Vania as a new mom discovering all the little features of her baby girl 🙂

Perk of the job is that I get to snuggle the new baby 🙂

Giving back…

I am a firm believer that we are all given gifts and that we should use those gifts to help give back to others.  In the photography industry there are many organizations that provide this type of opportunity.  I personally have chosen to partner with two who vision strikes a chord in my heart.  One of those organizations is called “Red Thread Sessions“.  What is a Red Thread Session?

Red Thread Sessions was started in 2011 by two custom photographers in Texas and Maryland, both whom added to their families through adoption. Feeling the need in their communities to celebrate the beauty of adoption through photography, Red Thread Sessions was born. Soon after, many other photographers throughout the U.S. felt moved to donate their time as well. Red Thread sessions not only captures family portraits of new families, it also capture the precious, happy, confusing, exciting, exhausting, traumatic, life-changing time that is so often brief and fleeting in the life of an adoptive family.

Being adopted myself, I was so excited when I came across the organization!  A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to do my first Red Thread Session for two very sweet families and one precious baby girl.  Go check out their blog post here on the Red Thread site.  Also, if you know of someone adopting around the country please spread the word about the organization 🙂

Isabel & her family :) ~ Maryland Newborn Photographer

Can I just say how much I love photographing squishy babies? )  They are just the sweetest!  Before I left for vacation I was able to photograph sweet Isabel and her family.  A few members of her extended family were in town visiting so we were able to get some great images with everyone.  Enjoy the baby cuteness 🙂

Proud Mom & Dad….

The Crenshaw family ~ Maryland Family Photographer

Meet the Crenshaw family.  They are an adorable young family 🙂  I have loved getting to know them over the past few years and was thrilled to capture Miss Reagan for her 1st birthday.

Crenshaw family – Thanks for having me! I look forward to next time 🙂

We started off with a handful of family images in their living room….

Now for Miss Cutie 🙂

This trunk has been in their family for multiple generations.  Seemed only appropriate to use it, right?  I loved the burlap on the lid…

Seriously how cute???

We ventured outside for a few minutes to get a few images with brother…

It’s a boy!!!

The anticipation was so great.  Rob was deployed when the time came for the anatomy scan at 20 weeks and so Rob & Mary decided to leave the gender of their unborn baby a secret.  Mary being the planner though wanted a backup in case they changed their minds, so she had the doctor write it on a notecard.  Mary had the envelope in her house for 20ish weeks and never once peeked!!!  I don’t know how they did it 🙂  The day came for the birth (more on that later) and they got the best surprise, baby Parker!  I was able to join them at their home for a newborn session when Parker was 5 days old (perfect window of time for those planning their newborn sessions!).  It was such great afternoon 🙂  Take a look and leave a comment for the new parents!

Mary & Rob – He is a doll – no he is a prince 🙂  Enjoy your snuggles!

Throughout Mary’s pregnancy they called the baby peanut.  We though it was only appropriate to do an image with this book 🙂

Look at that furrowed brow!

Just like their maternity session, Mary had several Pinterest inspired images she wanted.

I couldn’t decide which one I liked, so you get both!

Mary’s mom made Parker this turtle blanket…

Dad’s tie from their wedding 🙂

Love these next two – such strength and innocence…

Holding grandma’s hand…
